Die Unfassbaren - Now You See Me (Now You See Me)
France/U.S.A. 2013

Opening 11 Jul 2013

Directed by: Louis Leterrier
Writing credits: Ed Solomon, Boaz Yakin, Edward Ricourt
Principal actors: Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco

Director Louis Leterrier’s supersonic thriller based on magic delivers a visual feast, imagine a contemporary electronic version of Baz Luhrmann’s Gatsby on amphetamines! It moves so fast, its speed, along with the great cast and visuals, disguise a bit of fast and easy action with the plot. An elite organization, The Eye, mysteriously invites four very different magicians to compete for membership: Daniel Atlas (Jesse Eisenberg), Merritt McKenny (Woody Harrelson), Henley Reeves (Isla Fisher) and Jack Wilder (Dave Franco) who join forces to become The Four Horsemen.

Sponsored by investor Arthur Tressler (Michael Caine), their Las Vegas supershow involves robbing the bank of an audience member, who is teleported to his bank – in Paris. This attracts FBI Agent Rhodes (Mark Ruffalo), French Interpol Agent Vargas (Mélanie Laurent), and magician turned trick revealer Bradley (Morgan Freeman) to trail their spectacular shows in New Orleans at Mardi Gras and finally New York City, always one step ahead of the authorities.

Now You See Me walloped Will Smith’s After Earth, the favorite, in opening U.S. box-office sales. (Nancy Tilitz)
